Metal Wall Art Decor: Paintings of African Women Turkana

I did this painting of an African woman from the Turkana tribe in Kenya as a commission for a friend. The Turkana people are renowned for their beautiful beaded African jewelry. I really enjoyed doing this embossed metal art piece and in particular painting over the beaded necklace. The paint colors came out particularly vibrant. I created it for a client who wanted nursery decor that was gender neutral and matched her citron nursery color scheme. The painting features a little boy and girl swinging from a tree and a children's poem which helps foster family values of sharing, love and friendship.
